Neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism, isn’t just a difference in behavior—it’s a difference in how the entire nervous system processes the world. In this series, neurodivergent producers Sarah Russell and JQ Walker (Julia Schildwachter) blend science, coaching neurodivergent clients, lived experience, and practical strategies to explore love, connection, and self-advocacy through a neurodiversity lens—empowering folks to practice more compassionate communication for all.  The ND Report offers practical tools for building connection, empathy, and emotional self-regulation, as well as making the current research more accessible to all. With the help of special guests ranging from other neurodivergent professionals, doctors, authors, and more, we aim to destigmatize neurodiversity and show up authentically as our exuberant selves.

MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION

Supported by my background in clinical, educational, developmental, social, and relationship psychologies, as well as in my time as a crisis counselor and student health advisor for Binghamton University, I have worked as a mental health educator in a variety of areas.

Mindfulness in Action

Mindfulness in Action is a course a developed and taught at Binghamton University based on my previous work on the subject for the university. From a foundation in mindfulness interventions, contemplative therapies, and cognitive-behavioral therapy integrated with principles of positive psychology, I taught the basics of what it means to be mindful, and how to implement this knowledge into daily life ,using exercises and extended discussion. In Spring 2021, the class was adapted to meet the needs of elderly students, and more of a focus was put on how mindfulness can mediate symptoms of depression and chronic pain; two common health concerns in elderly populations.

Psychology Today & Medium

I served as the ghost writer for best-selling author and grief therapist Edy Nathan, with posts going viral on Psychology Today, Medium, and LinkedIn. I also edited Edy's manuscripts for her latest books and workbooks.

As a content writer, I created parent-facing content and modules on how to discuss mental and reproductive health, empathy, and diversity with children. Specific topics included how to talk with children about emotions, healthy relationships, body image, mass violence, mindfulness, and sexuality.

Jeelcode Academy | Türkiye

Jeelcode Academy is a school in Türkiye with an emphasis on both STEM and socioemotional education. For Jeelcode, I developed personality and career testing assessments for students, trained teachers on how to interpret results, and also developed a mindfulness lessons for the academy to integrate into their curriculum.
